living on board a cruising yacht
The clichés range from the images presented to us by advertising – "always sipping cocktails on the aft deck at sunset" – to the picture that understated yacht owners like to paint – "living on your own boat means repairing it in places where others go on vacation" – to the metaphor that – "sailing is like tearing up hundred-euro bills under an ice-cold shower"...
There's a grain of truth in all of this, but to find out what it's really like... you just have to try it. We did, or rather, we're still doing it ... and enjoying it.

about Us
Indeed, it was a long road – a good four years – from the initial idea of living on a boat until we finally moved into our Tathagata at the end of 2020. At times we had our doubts about whether it would work out, but it seems it was meant to be.
Like everything else, the vagabond life at sea is a process – it's about finding the right balance between "control" and "surrendering to the flow." We continue to observe and experiment, conserve energy, and complete the tasks we face in material (3D) reality... (as conscientiously as we can manage).
We enjoy being close to nature, the sea - above and below water - the flora and fauna on land, the people and culture on the different islands, and the contacts we make with like-minded people, the other yachties.
Our life is independent – apart from grocery shopping – we sail with the wind, generate our own electricity and drinking water on board – that's what we call sustainable...
